Best Gay Bar

  • Fun

    160 N. 4th St., Williamsburg, Brooklyn; 718-302-4300

The walls are decorated with fake Louis Vuitton emblems and—naturally—red cocks (the bird). There’s a gigantic screen for campy movies and gay porn. The American Apparel–clad go-go boys are scruffy, slim, and approachable. And the crowd is packed with artists and creative professionals (and a few girls) whose taste for debauchery is too refined for other bars. Not that they’re above some good unclean fun. After three free tequila shots and one D.J. mix of classic rock, mid-eighties pop, and hip-hop, the friendly bartenders might persuade you to shake your package atop the bar next week.
