Kefi
Culinary Greek god Michael Psilakis’s taverna gets bigger, but can it get any better? Find out when it moves farther uptown to a space with three times as many seats and a new reservations-and-credit-cards-friendly policy. 505 Columbus Ave, nr. 84th St.; 212-873-0200. September.
Num Pang
Good news for dieting, environmentally conscious Cambodian-sandwich lovers: The folks at Kampuchea go takeout with half-size versions of their popular num pang wrapped in ecofriendly packaging. 21 E. 12th St., at University Pl. October.
Porchetta
Speaking of sandwiches, this one sounds too good to be true: Sara Jenkins (of 50 Carmine fame) dispenses the porchetta variety from a tiny East Village takeout shop, beans and greens on the side. A bit like Lidia Bastianich whisking up zabaglione to order from a converted mail truck. 110 E. 7th St., nr. First Ave.; 212-777-2151. September.
Saxelby Cheesemongers at the City Bakery
The great little American cheese shop opens a full-fledged satellite branch at the home of the pretzel croissant. Cheeses will be cut to order, and C.B. savory chef Ilene Rosen, with all that perfectly matured fromage at hand, is sure to concoct some toothsome morsels. 3 W. 18th St., nr. Fifth Ave.; 212-366-1414. November.
