Free glasses of champagne flow at this after-hours hair salon with a DJ deck and chill-out lounge vibe. Turns out salon owners David Cotteblanche (head stylist) and Reynald Ricard (head colorist) are refugees from Frédéric Fekkai's uptown salon, and after three years of living downtown and working on clients at night who refused to go above 14th Street, the duo decided to open their own space in June 2006. Appointments for cut, color, ionic conditioning treatments, makeup, life coaching, and blowouts go late into the night—no rushing here. The price is the same for a cut or a single-process color whether with the owners or one of three other stylists. Some Upper East Side matrons have followed the trail and seem undaunted by the three flights of stairs up to the salon, but the concept is obviously more popular with the 25-to-45-year-old crowd. Clients are introduced to each other while they're getting work done in the mod red and white loft and are encouraged to chat and exchange business cards; some even hook up for after-after-hours drinks when they're done.
