Review

This adaptation of Sue Monk Kidd’s novel about a clan of utopian beekeepers is just as sticky-sweet as it sounds: Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, and Sophie Okonedo play the African-American sisters who embrace a girl (Dakota Fanning) recently escaped from her redneck father (Paul Bettany). The cast is mostly strong, but the script is never more than hokey.
