Part retail store and part showroom, Antony Todd’s airy shop showcases the eclectic style of a designer who created theatrical sets before moving on to high-end floral design and interior decor. Todd's own modern creations—simple, lacquered coffee tables, X-leg stools, and Lucite chandeliers—are interspersed with restored antique sofas, carpets, and objets d’art from around the world. This combination of old and new sometimes coalesces in a single piece like a bronze-and-steel bookcase by Parisian designer Renaud Vuaillat who modeled the shelving unit on some nineteenth-century wooden pieces from the French embassy in Spain. Though nothing is labeled with a price tag, Todd’s typically well-off clientele need not ask when completing their six-figure living room set. — Jed Egan
