Shortly before his death on September 28, legendary Newsweek editor Osborn Elliott asked Adi Ignatius, his son-in-law and Time deputy editor, and Alec McCabe, his stepson and Bloomberg editor, to write his obituary. When they presented it to him, he gave it one final edit for the ages. Below, the first two pages; the final version appeared on Newsweek.com.
