You can go to one of the aforementioned electronics megastores and try to construct a mind-blowing home theater on your own. Or you can hand the task to Innovative. At the start of your project, you’ll meet with a salesperson, who will see you through the whole process (and for years after; owner Elliot Fishkin keeps a database detailing whom each client worked with). The salesperson will take detailed measurements and photos of your space, consult with your architect, decorator, and contractor, and then plan your system. A Martin Scorsese–level viewing experience with Stewart screens, a Faroudja projector, Linn’s Katan two-channel music-system monitor, and a Wilson sound system is a snap, but if you just want a plain old Fujitsu Plasmavision 50-inch TV and some decent speakers, that’s cool too.
